Infinite Landscape 2008-2013
Analog photography
C-Print and gold leaf mounted on Dibond

In Infinite Landscape, I reveal the essence of the landscape by covering it, much like Christo's iconic wrapped monuments and landscapes. This act of hiding erases all sense of place and time, freeing the background from defining the people within it. Who are they now, where do they go, what defines them? These questions arise as the familiar markers of identity dissolve.

This work also embraces a spiritual dimension: by erasing the sense of place and time, we are left with the present moment, the here and now. This technique references Italian pre-Renaissance paintings, where gold leaf was used to signify the divine realm before the mastery of perspective.
